Mar. 23rd, 2009 @ 11:50 am Twilight
I finally watched Twilight on Saturday.

Eh.

The book is way better. The movie left out too many vital parts. If I had seen the movie and not read the book I would have no idea about some of the underlying information; information that I thought was vital to the story. Oh well.

Another bad part about the movie was the makeup. It was awful. The male vamps looked like drag queens. And they didn't sparkle near as much as I thought they would.

But the worst part of the movie was Edward. Bad, bad, bad casting. Robert Pattinson does not do Edward justice. And he has an ugly forehead. And Peter Facinelli is one of the most annoying actors. He's very over the top and cheesy.

Up next...New Moon. We'll see....

Mar. 15th, 2009 @ 08:36 pm Last night...
We were on Lower Greenville last night to see Tokyo Police Club. Earlier that day was the parade and block parties. The streets were still very crowded with drunkies. Here are the happenings of the night...

1. Overheard at a party while we're walking down the street "Damn I need to fuck somebody!" X2. Sena and Sump both looked at me and said, "There's a man for you." I politely declined.

2. We walk into Izmir Deli and learned that a guy was just kicked out for being too drunk.

3. A girl outside jumps on the hood of her friends car, while it's driving, and begins to hump the hood of the car. The whole street stopped to watch. Even the guy's with her were looking around like, we don't know her.

4. Two guys come into Izmir and one yells "Damn something smells good and I want it. And it ain't pussy." He was asked to leave. We stifled our laughter until he left.

5. Another girl outside starts to fall and grabs her man. She ends up pulling him down with her. They took out an Observer newstand and fell into the street.

6. Chips are now call cheeps.

7. We got a free brownie at Izmir.

8. We finally found Brittany while waiting in the Will Call line. A very very drunk Brittany.

9. During Ra Ra Riot, my head, neck, back, shoulders and butt were molested by Brittany and Sump. Apparently I was their drum set.

10. Brittany, some on her own and some through the Vantriloquist arms of Sump, played with my hair because...well I don't know why. But there were a lot of hands all in my hair.

11. Much dancing was had.

12. Much air drumming was done.

13. A guy told me that the bar was practicing false advertisement because they said they sold cookies but they were in fact out of cookies.

14. Sump wanted me to have my picture taken with a very very stoned man. I convinced Brittany to do it instead and she was immediately mouth attacked by him. Sorry about that B-Ritt.

15. Tokyo Police Club...enough said!

16. Sump, Brittany and I danced in a line going in circles. We also did the Dosey Do.

17. We went to Christine's house to watch a DVD of her on a fashion makeover show.

18. I laid in her heart-shaped tub for a photo but the batteries died. :(

19. Christine played with my hair and told me how she wants to cut it. I can't wait.

20. Home bound.

Is it wrong that I like to watch "Intervention"?

I don't feel happy watching it. It doesn't even make me stop and think about how grateful I am for my life. I just like it. It's not entertaining in the traditional sense, but I can't get enough of it. Do I need an "Intervention" intervention? Is that wrong? It kinda feels wrong.

Mar. 8th, 2009 @ 08:44 pm The weekend
It was a busy, busy weekend. Actually it started Thursday.

A friend of the family's grandson died last Saturday. We went to the house on Thursday to visit with them. Very sad. After work Friday we went straight the funeral home for the visitation. Lots and lots of people there. Only stayed long enough to see him and to hug the family.

After that I came home and decided I didn't want to be home. I met my Christopher at IHOP for 10pm pancakes. It was an especially great evening with my Christopher because I got my Snuggie from him. He loves me so much that he bought me a Snuggie...and the free book light. YES! We had so much fun and experimented with magnetism. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4k6cyEDXLeI

I was up early Saturday to go with my parents to take my Grandma to breakfast and for her weekly groceries. We walked into the restaurant and Angel's parents were there. I can't see them without the urge to cry and it didn't help that I knew I would be at a funeral in a couple of hours. But I managed to hold back the tears.

The funeral was harder than I thought it would be. I didn't actually know Houston but you can't help but be sad by something like this. Of course I also cried because funerals always make me think of my family and friends and Clay and myself.

We came home after that long enough to just sit and relax for a bit. Then I went to the Golden Gloves with my mom and dad. Great fun! Love those ringside seats...free ringside seats. I've never been a fan of pro boxing but I love this because they wear headgear. Without the headgear it's just too brutal for me. We went out to eat afterward with another couple. Lots of fun and laughs.

I was up early again today, and missing an hour, to get Clay from Nanny's house. Then off to Sunday brunch and then straight to Haley's birthday party. Came home for a couple of hours after that and then headed over to Naomi's to visit with her, Ronald and Cooper. I love that sweet little baby. He's just so cute with his fat cheeks and big eyes.

Back home now indulging in some ice cream. Gotta finish so I can make it to Target before it closes.

I can't wait to sleep tonight. I'm going to bed as soon as I get back from Target.

Mar. 3rd, 2009 @ 08:04 pm Happy √ Day!

Bueno!

It's Square Root Day. We went for sushi today. The theory behind that themed lunch was as follows: Square Root = Math Problem = Sushi = What kind of crazy ass math do they do to figure it should cost that much?! So, sushi it was. Really it was just an excuse to eat sushi.

On a side note, I learned today that my dad doesn't know how to play Minesweeper and he didn't want me to teach him. It was irritating to watch him click on random squares. He didn't even know what the numbers were for. Argh! haha

Mar. 2nd, 2009 @ 08:39 pm Tomorrow...
Tomorrow is Square Root Day. Won't be another one until 4/4/14. Wow! Square Root Day and Pie Day all in one month.

I've been having themed lunches with work peeps. Everything from the highly offensive fried chicken for MLK Day to chinese buffet for Chinese New Year to Popeye's for Mardi Gras. Lots of ideas for Square Root Day.

1. Root = Roots = Family = Soul Food
2. Square = Square Meals = Prison Food?
3. Square = Sandwiches = Jason's Deli
4. Square = Wendy's Burgers
5. Roots = Trees have roots = Syrup comes from trees = PANCAKES!

I'll let you know what is decided tomorrow.
